Cappellano
aperitivo Italiano
“Cappellano is about Convivialità: the joy of coming together. It celebrates the Italian culture of connection, where every aperitivo is an invitation to slow down, share, and savor la dolce vita.”
-Fabio Cappellano
Sicilian oranges, lemon, and bergamot. Gentian and rhubarb for a gentle bitter backbone. Liquorice for depth. Cinchona bark for structure and soul.
Over 200 natural herbs and spices. Aromatic, lightly citrusy, with a bittersweet finish.
One family. one recipe.
In the early 1900s, the Cappellano family left the hills of Piedmont and followed the sun south all the way to Siracusa, where the light hits differently and time moves on its own terms. It was here, in Sicily, that something new took shape. In 1936, Bar Viola opened on Corso Matteotti in the heart of Ortigia, and with it, a ritual was born. A glass poured over ice. A table of familiar faces. An evening that refused to end.
Today, Fabio Cappellano & his daughter Chiara bring the recipe back. Same aromas, same soul, in collaboration with one of Italy’s oldest and most renowned distillery: Distilleria Zanin 1895.
POUR IT, SHARE IT, STAY A LITTLE LONGER.
You can mix it, or serve it on the rocks. Here’s our favorite combination at the moment:
The Fabio’s
⅓ Cappellano aperitivo
